Who is your italian teacher?
Ciao, I am Pucci and I would like to share with you some information about my experiences and professional activities.
I live in Messina, Sicily, where I teach the Italian language. I'm a qualified teacher certificated by the DITALS+, Certification of Competence in Teaching Italian as a Foreign Language, issued by the University for Foreigners of Siena*, recognized through the Italian Ministry of Education.
I work as an Italian Teacher in reception centres for both minor and adult migrants.
In addition to teaching Italian in the classroom, I also organize expressive-language lab, professional-language lab, one-on-one lessons and work as a cultural mediator for women.
I am very grateful to this job which gives me the opportunity to live one of the most intense and richest experiences of my life.
I have been in love with the island of Favignana since the first time I arrived more than 20 years ago. I worked here for my degree thesis in Natural Science focusing in dolphin’s behaviour around fishing nets and, since then, the Island has become an important part of my life.
I've studied and worked in the field of Marine Biology for several years.
After my degree I moved to England where I worked as a PhD student and Research Assistant at Loughborough University.
I was involved in many European Research Projects, including ADEPTs (Acoustic Deterrent to Eliminate Predation in Trammel nets) that took place in Favignana, where I lived for 3 years coordinating research in the field.
I would like to put together all my professional and life experiences, to combine my love for Favignana with the passion for teaching the Italian language.
Living and working in a multicultural environment has been a source of inspiration in my life and I’m sure, when people are inspired, great things will happen!
*DITALS+ Certification is a cultural qualification granted by the University for Foreigners of Siena that certifies the possession of the theoretical and practical competences needed to fulfil the role of teacher of the Italian language to foreigners.
